History of Clubs

New Sidcup Badminton Club was created in September 2003 by a group of friends, living in and around the Sidcup area. Word soon spread about the success of the club and within a 10 month period demand for membership exceeded availability. It was at this point we decided to create a ‘sister’ club New Eagles Badminton Club.

New Eagles Badminton Club was formed in September 2004 playing at Eaglesfield School in Greenwich, before moving to our current venue in January 2005.

Following continued demand for  membership, our 3rd club, New Bexley Badminton club, was born in June 2008.

We have 110 members with some 25 players participating on 2 or more nights.
Members vary in age from our juniors at 14 to our experienced members at 72!  We have been described as one of the friendliest clubs people have come across.

Demand for membership continues to exceed vacancies. However, positions do come up on a regular basis so if you are an intermediate player please feel free to add your name to our waiting list - please use the contact us tab at the top of the page (information last updated 19/02/10).

What is the difference between us and other local clubs?
  • We offer the best value badminton in the borough
  • Badminton runs all year round with the school only closing for Christmas
  • We have a Level 2 Badminton England Qualified Coach, a Level 1 Badminton England Qualified Coach, and two more training for Level 1 qualification
  • We have a friendly yet competitive club with lots of fun on the social side too

Ethos of the Clubs

To provide members with an opportunity to play non league badminton, in a social and friendly environment, and to the rules of the Badminton England.
